Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were no match even for a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

The home side were hanging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
