Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, readers and a range of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.
My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
