Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
