The visionary game developer, the mind behind the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The renowned game designer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.
