Three In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Award
Announced recently
Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.
The event will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Littler's Profile

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
